Slow Sunday Stitching/A Smitten Update

Happy Sunday Everyone!  I haven't posted lately about my Smitten project so I thought I share what I've been sewing while finishing watching (really listening) the Gilmore Girls series, two episodes of Blue Blood and four movies.
I only have four small hexagons (approx. 6") out of the 26 left to paper piece and then I'll be ready to sew them together to make the large hexagons and half large hexagons which still will involve additional paper piecing to finish this quilt. There is definitely will be more Slow Sunday Stitching before this top will be done.

Am I still smitten with this project which my dear friend Carol got me involved with?  Yes.  Am I at the stage where I thinking of making a voodoo doll of Carol?  Maybe. (I know she'll be reading this post). Those one-inch equilateral triangles are killers.  Just like the other Kingwell patterns I finished, I know once I'm done it will be an accomplishment.

Happy  Sunday Sewing!

    1. Thanks Cathie. Sometimes when you see the light at the end of the tunnel, it's still pretty far. Hopefully, the top will be done by the end of the year.

  2. I can just imagine how much effort it must be for all of these hexagon blocks to come together just right. I am pretty sure it's not something I would want to undertake at the moment. But the finished quilt is going to be something quite spectacular and a beautiful keepsake. --Andrea

    1. Thanks Andrea. Paper piecing is a wonderful project to take with you when you're traveling which I'm pretty sure you have some trips already lined up. I am going to be very happy when this top is completed although I'll probably start up with another paper piecing project.

    1. Thanks Tish. I think all Jen Kingwell projects are an odysess, you're so glad when you're done and very relieved.

  5. I love Gilmore Girls! Great TV to sew by! Love the voodoo doll of the person who got you started--I've had a few of those thoughts for folks who inspire me to get into projects myself!

    1. Thanks Emily. It was hard sewing the blocks after GG, I was debating whether to re-watch the series but decided I will watch Blue Bloods which is very good and there's some good free movies on Amazon Prime.

  6. Your 'smitten' is looking lovely. And I find it's so nice to have a slow buring project on the go that I can pick up whenever. Enjoy!
